It’s Time for a Special Matinee!

‘La Cage’ Expands Its Schedule at Four Queens

LAS VEGAS – August 12, 2011 – Because the bustling Downtown Vegas area is packed with tourists on the street looking for fun things to do and they are out in force both day and night, the producers of An Evening at La Cage at the Four Queens Hotel and Casino have realized they have a marketing bonus they did not have on The Strip.

After completing four weeks at its new home at the Four Queens, the show’s producers have decided that Sunday would be a perfect time to provide an afternoon show option to give those crowds a great place to go. So, starting Sunday, August 14, An Evening at La Cage will add a 3 pm Sunday matinee to its schedule.

La Cage is a high-energy, glitzy production that not only showcases top female impersonators whose astounding impressions of the world’s most famous stars leave the audience gasping, but also features the extraordinary comedic talents of Jimmy Emerson, who not only hosts the show but appears as some of the funniest and most unforgettable characters imaginable.

A Great Show Just Got Better!

International Star Frankie Kein Joins ‘La Cage’ Cast

LAS VEGAS – July 25, 2011An Evening At La Cage at the Four Queens Hotel and Casino has added a stellar new cast member, Frankie Kein, an exquisite performer who is internationally acclaimed in the field of female impersonation.

Born in Havana, he immigrated with his parents to the US at an early age and has become a star in both the American and Latin American worlds, as well as making his mark in Europe and Asia.

Frankie got his big break when producers Irving and Kenneth Feld (Siegfried and Roy’s Beyond Belief, Disney on Ice, Barnum , etc.) were so impressed with the amazing abilities of Frankie Kein and Manuel Arte that they produced the extravaganza One of a Kind to showcase their talents. One of a Kind played for years to full houses in Miami Beach and Las Vegas.

Frankie’s tribute to Liza Minnelli, Forever Liza, played to a tremendous response in over 20 theatres in Florida, and Frankie actually performed for Liza at a gala  in her honor in Buenos Aires. Liza joined Frankie after the show and embraced him warmly. When a delighted Frankie blurted out, “I love you,” a smiling Liza replied, “I love you too!”

An Evening at La Cage is produced by Starr Pro Productions with a special licensing agreement with longtime producer Norbert Aleman and stars comedian Jimmy Emerson and a sensationally talented cast (Frankie Kein, Brent Allen, Ryan Zink, Carlos Rodriguez, Jay Sanchez and Lane Lassiter) performing highly entertaining impersonations of such luminaries as Liza Minnelli, Lady Gaga, Barbra Streisand, Carrie Underwood, Madonna, Reba McEntire, Jennifer Lopez and Michael Jackson.

Show times are 9 pm, Wednesday through Sunday. For tickets, buy online at tickets.fourqueens.com or contact the Four Queens box office, 1-800-634-6045 or 702-387-5175.

They’re back and glitzier than ever!

‘La Cage’ To Re-emerge at the Four Queens Hotel & Casino Starring Jimmy Emerson

LAS VEGAS – June 24, 2011An Evening At La Cage, the world-famous Las Vegas extravaganza, will bring its glitz and glamour to the Four Queens Hotel & Casino starting July 13. The show has been on hiatus from Vegas since it closed at the Riviera two years ago and is now refreshed and ready to take its place again as the premier show of its kind.

An Evening At La Cage features the most amazing female impersonators, celebrity look-alikes and tribute artists alive today in a top-notch performance of nonstop music, dance and comedy.

Produced by Starr Pro Productions, with a special licensing agreement with longtime producer Norbert Aleman, La Cage will star Jimmy Emerson, the internationally known comedian and impressionist who was the comedy lead and backup host for the show’s previous Las Vegas incarnation. He is famed for outrageous characters that bring the house down, including his wicked Wynonna Judd and the queen of country-western trailer-trash Tammy Spraynette.

Emerson has appeared in movies and TV and around the world in his own shows as an actor, singer and dancer in addition to being a comedian and impersonator in the international casts of An Evening at La Cage, including the highly acclaimed London production.

The stunning impersonations in the show run the gamut from Barbra Streisand to Lady Gaga, with a host of other exquisite stars, including Carrie Underwood, Madonna, Reba McEntire, Jennifer Lopez and Michael Jackson. Cast members are Brent Allen, Ryan Zink, Andrew Ryan, Carlos Rodriguez, Alondro Garibay and Lane Lassiter.

Rounding out the cast are the extraordinary La Cage dancers, complete with eye-popping costumes that showcase astounding configurations of feathers and rhinestones adorning brilliant headdresses.

An Evening at La Cage started in 1982 in Hollywood after the huge success of the Broadway musical La Cage aux Folles. Producer Norbert Aleman teamed up with original creator Lou Paciocco to bring the show to Las Vegas in 1985 where it immediately captivated audiences. Other companies of the show have been seen in Atlantic City, Japan, Aruba, Great Britain, Brazil and Canada.

Show times are 9 pm, Wednesday through Sunday. For tickets, buy online at tickets.fourqueens.com or contact the Four Queens box office, 1-800-634-6045 or 702-387-5175.

Reviews of Jimmy Emerson:

“The portly Jimmy Emerson, however, was the crowd favorite. First as Madonna’s ‘bigger’ sister, and then as Tammy Spraynette, Emerson had the house howling as he pranced around in his cowgirl outfit, trying to keep his silicone boobs in check.”

- Jennifer Prosser, Vegas.com

“Just when you’re consigned to a string of look-alikes, Jimmy Emerson shows up as a hefty Madonna. Later, he gets more needed laughs from a fast-traveling set of falsies as ‘Tammy Spraynette.’”

- Mike Weatherford, Las Vegas Review-Journal

“It’s not always about an exact replication of an icon. Jimmy Emerson is hysterically funny as a queen-sized Madonna.”

-  Erin Auerbach, Las Vegas Weekly

“Jimmy Emerson was phenomenal! Emerson was his bubbly self, shaking and slithering all over the stage with a myriad of costume changes while he acted as the emcee. . . I have seen Mr. Emerson in other Las Vegas shows but this was the first time seeing him in a starring role. He is simply hilarious.”
